Last week, Dr. Markus Pötsch and Nicola Brusa from Tailor Engineering led insightful workshops on ShapeMetriX workflows for remote sensing and data integration with Rocscience tools. Participants gained valuable insights into engineering geologic mapping and discontinuity-controlled failure mechanisms.
Workshop topics included:
• Challenges in engineering geologic mapping for rock engineering
• Field procedures for data gathering and 3D model generation
• Assessment of 3D models as an integral part in the engineering geologic design process
• Integration of data with Rocscience tools for rock analyses
• Case studies
The workshop addressed geologists, rock engineers, designers and consultants in civil and mining rock engineering, mining and quarry operators and owners, experts for natural hazards, and public authorities. Participants learned about the ShapeMetriX workflows of remote sensing for engineering geologic mapping, and the integration of data into Rocscience’s tools for the analysis of discontinuity controlled failure mechanisms.
